How long does CCTV installation take?

Most home installations are completed in a day — a typical 4-camera system takes around 4–6 hours. Larger systems (8+ cameras) or complex business jobs may take 1–2 days. That covers mounting the cameras, running cables, installing the recorder, testing, and showing you the mobile app. We confirm an accurate timeframe after your free site survey.

What's the difference between HD and 4K cameras?

HD cameras (1080p, 2 megapixel) give clear footage that's fine for general monitoring of most homes. 4K cameras (8 megapixel) capture around four times the detail, which helps with facial recognition and reading number plates — worth it for businesses or larger properties. We'll advise which suits your site during the survey.

Can I view my cameras on my phone?

Yes. Every package includes mobile app setup, so you can watch all your cameras live in HD from anywhere using an iPhone, Android phone or tablet. You can also play back recordings, get motion-detection alerts and take screenshots. We set the app up on your devices and show you how to use it, and several family members or staff can have access if needed.

How long is footage kept?

It depends on hard-drive size, number of cameras and quality settings. As a rough guide: a 1TB drive holds roughly 7–10 days with 4 HD cameras, 2TB around 14–20 days, and 4TB around 28–40 days. The system overwrites the oldest footage automatically when the drive is full — choose a larger drive or cloud storage if you need to keep footage longer.

Do the cameras work at night?

Yes. All our cameras have infrared night vision that records clearly in complete darkness, typically up to 20–40m in black and white. We also offer colour night-vision cameras that use white LED light to capture detail like vehicle and clothing colours at night.

Will the cameras still record if my internet goes down?

Yes. Footage records to a local NVR/DVR recorder, not the cloud, so recording continues 24/7 even with no internet. The internet is only needed for live remote viewing on your phone — once it's back, remote viewing resumes automatically. You can always view footage on a monitor connected to the recorder.

What warranty do you offer?

Every installation comes with a 12-month warranty covering both the equipment (cameras, recorder, hard drive, cables) and the installation workmanship. If anything fails or there's an installation issue within that time, we put it right at no charge. After 12 months we offer affordable maintenance and quick repair response.
